Moodlings started with a simple question:

How much personality can you fit inside a smiley face?

Moodlings started without a client, a campaign, or even much of a plan. It began simply because I wanted to make something for myself.

After designing stickers for work, often as small giveaways for children at community events, I found myself thinking about what I might create if I took the same format and followed my own curiosity. In my personal time, I started sketching characters that could potentially become stickers for future events. Instead, the idea gradually became its own project.

Eventually, I decided to put the characters out into the world through Redbubble. That gave me another opportunity to experiment, this time beyond illustration. I developed product photography, social media assets, and a small paid advertising campaign to explore how the characters could be presented and promoted as an actual product.

Moodlings remains intentionally small and playful. There was no complicated brief behind it and no major problem that needed solving. It became an exercise in giving myself creative freedom and seeing how much personality and possibility I could build from one very simple idea.

Some of my favorite ideas are the ones nobody asked me to make.
